NEW PRODUCTS FOR 2008

WCK CANYON LINER

This amazing piece of gear was put together in association with World Class Kayak Academy. It is perfect for steep creeking and great for belaying boats and equipment. Long enough to use as a quick harness, anchoring, safety rigging and quick support for both on and off water applications. Its uses are endless. The pouch is built small enough to attach to your PFD or tuck into a pocket. It contains 14’ of 1/2” high strength webbing with a locking carabineer attached to each end. Reflective webbing gives it high visibility and the drain holes keep the water out. Bar-tacked loops allow you to adjust the working length. It also makes a great flip line.

EDS “EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM” BELT

We have redesigned our popular DFO Belt System to dramatically increase its adaptability. By using a modular approach, firefighters, search and rescue and other swiftwater response teams can customize the "EDS" belt to meet specific requirements while addressing a much broader range of rescue needs.

It starts with a floatation equipped belt and a rated “swiftwater blow-out buckle”.
On either side of the waist is a single-hand deployable quick release system.

This configuration allows you to mount equipment suitable for the unique rescue environment at hand. It can be rigged in the traditional configuration with a gear pouch on one side and throw bag on the other. For teams performing special operations like containment, system rigging, recovery and rescue, it can also be converted to carry multiple throw bags, gear pouch and two throw bags, or gear pouches for additional hardware. Both gear pouches and throw bags are interchangeable and available separately.

To increase its versatility even more we added a 2” stainless steel D-ring to the back of the belt which allows the belt to be used as a containment anchor during single-rescuer throw bagging of swimmers. This gives a single rescuer the ability to belay multiple static loads while freeing up other rescuers to cover a greater river area with containment. If conditions change, the containment anchor can be released simply by deploying the blow-out buckle.

By adding the 2” D-ring you now have a fully functional quick release swiftwater blow-out belt. Simply by repositioning the belt to the chest area for proper body angle to the current vector you can now incorporate more sophisticated in water procedures such as “Live Bait” and “Strong Swimmer” techniques.

Designed by river rescue professionals for river rescue professionals.

NORTH WATER ROPE RESCUE SYSTEM BAG

Due to the overwhelming response to our “Line Across Rope Bag” we have worked with professionals in the field to take the features that stand out and expand them into a line of system rope bags designed to exceed the needs of the vertical rescue professional. We have adapted system rope bags to accommodate the specific equipment required by all three standards of rope rescue: NFPA, PEP and Swiftwater.

Keeping the features that have become the standard for our rope bags such as compact design, hide-away backpack system and daisy chain, we have redesigned the pocket to accommodate enough hardware to rig a load or belay line. This allows a bag to be used as a “system bag”.

For this reason a clear identifier pouch has been added that will also carry a rope log and date of service card. Two carrying handles are well spaced for lifting, hanging and transporting.

A grommet on the bottom give you access to a short length when needed without emptying the whole bag or for dead ending the rope.

LINE ACROSS BAG

Our SRT System Bag is designed for the swiftwater technician or commercial paddler. The bag is built for accessing wrapped boats and building tension diagonals. It is small enough to carry on board or for swimming with it on your back, and it is big enough to hold the gear required to build a basic system for improvised rescue or equipment extraction.

Size: 6” Diameter X 20” high
Will hold 250’ (76m) of 1/4” (6mm) Spectrx or
200’ (61m) of 5/16” (8mm)
Spectrx and hardware.

SAR SYSTEM BAG

The Fire/Rescue and SAR System Bag is designed for high angle and over embankment rescue. The bag is sized to accommodate the required equipment to build either a load or belay system. With all the same features as the SRT system bag but bigger, it is designed to go anywhere.

Size: 8.5” Diameter X 19” high
Will hold 200’ (66m) of 1/2” (12mm) or
7/16” (11mm) line and hardware.

HIGH LINE SYSTEM BAG

This large bag is designed to hold a full Kootenay High Line system or other large rope system. It has a large main body that will hold two 200’ (60m) of 7/16” (11mm) lines and a complete load and belay system in the outside pocket. As a high line bag it will hold 300’ (90m) of 1/2” (12mm) line, a kootenay knot passing pulley, and the rigging for a Kootenay High Line. This is a great bag for storing ready built vertical systems.

SMALL WEDGE THROW BAG (product upgrade)

To make this product more versatile we have added three belt loops to the back of the bag. This allows it to be used on our new EDS (Emergency Deployment System) belt or attached to the Bag Deployment Belt.

BAG DEPLOYMENT BELT (product upgrade)

We have modified the Bag Deployment Belt to accommodate our Small Wedge throw bags or EDS Gear Pouch. We added three belt loops to eliminate sagging when wet and keep the bag tight to your waist. They also serve to keep the bag attached to the belt in the event you accidentally release the buckle. To release the bag you simply pull it out and away from your body. Less chance of loss and a safer, lower profile make this a great alternative to the EDS Belt.
