Coaming Tow Line

Long distance towing can put a lot of strain on the paddler’s back. This tow line puts the strain on the boat’s coaming rather than the paddler. The highly visible 55’ x 1/4" polypropylene floating line, with built-in shock cord for smooth effective towing, puts enough distance between the two boats for West Coast swells. It is adjustable for single or double-entry cockpits and has a brass quick-release for safety.
Each component has built-in floatation and is corrosion-resistant. The whole system fits into a compact throw bag.

Primary Use: Coaming mounted quick release tow line. Great for long distance towing. 50 feet, shock corded, attaches around the combing with a unique quick release.

Secondary Use: Throw bag

INSTRUCTIONS:

Towing
Loosen the cord lock on the bag and remove the brass clip. Place the towline around the cockpit coaming AFTER you have secured your skirt. Place the float (which is your quick release) in front of you, and the tow line around the cockpit coaming. Push the piece of tubing up against the back of the cockpit coaming to create a snug fit. Clip the brass clip attached to the end of the bag into the grab loop of the boat you are towing.

Releasing the Tow Line
In the event that you wish to disengage from the rescue, pull the float in front of you and allow the system to pull away from around the coaming.

Re-packing the Bag
Open the bag and simply feed the rope in at random.
