NEW SPECTRX
|
|
High Tensile Rope Replacement for Spectra Due to current world events and the on going war in Iraq there is a severe shortage of Spectra leaving suppliers scrambling to meet military requirements. This has left the civilian market searching for a reliable alternative. North Water has worked with their suppliers to develop an Exciting new alternative called Spectrx. It has a polyester sheath and a high tensile pre-tensioned multifilament polypropylene core. The combination of the two materials produces a static rope with exceptional qualities; it is lighter, stronger, has a higher buoyancy rating, a much higher resistance to UV, heat and abrasion. We offer it in 1/4” and 3/8” diameters built to the following specifications:
- 1/4" (6.35 mm) 2,100 lbs. break strength, elongation 2.7% at 300 lbs.
Weight: 1.65 lbs/100 ft
- 3/8" (9.50 mm) 3,220 lbs. break strength, elongation 2.5% at 300 lbs.
Weight: 2.74 lbs/100 ft
Characteristics include:
- Double braided
- Polyester sheath
- Very high tensile strength
- Low stretch
- Light weight
- Floating, rot and mildew resistant
- Good hand and knotting.

Spectra
|
|
Available in limited quantities. This kernmantle rope combines the unique properties of two different fibres to produce a rope with the best features of each. We have it custom built for us using a double braided sheath.
The polyester outer jacket provides floatation, abrasion-resistance and UV protection while an inner core of parallel laid Spectra gives the rope its high strength and low stretch. We recommend using Spectra if the rope is to be used to gain mechanical advantage, as in Z-drags or vector pulls.
Characteristics include:
- Custom double braided kernmantle construction
- High tensile strength
- Easy handling
- Floats and holds knots well
- Low water absorption, rot and mildew resistant
- 2.5% stretch and low water absorption

Random Length Polypropylene Rope
|
|
We go through 100s of thousands of feet of rope every year. Most of it we cut into specific lengths. We inevitably end up with ends that are too short to go into the products. They make great painters, tie downs, perimeter lines and accessory lines, flip lines and of course clothesllines.
